A new mural in town, featuring the famous female pilot Amelia Earhart the first female aviator to fly solo across the Atlantic Ocean. The mural was created by Datuk Chen Teck Meng dan Khok Chai Ong, cost RM280,000 which sponsored by a private company from Kuala Lumpur.
In 1 Jun 1937, Earhart take off from Miami, Florida, America with her navigator, Fred Noonan in a twin-engine Lockheed Electra on a solo mission to round the world. During her journey, Earhart landed in Tekah Airfield, Assam Kumbang Taiping, which is the first airfield in Malaysia for refill. Later into the journey, Earhart and navigator Fred Noonandisappeared over the central Pacific Ocean near Howland Island.
